Lake Lanier Olympic Venue
GMRC assisted the Gainesville-Hall 96 Roundtable, Inc. in the preparation of an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant application and secured $300,000 in funding to aid in the cost burden associated with this project. The ARC grant paid for improvements to the Timing Tower, Service Building, and the installation of ADA compliant walkways.
GMRC assisted Banks Crossing and the City of Commerce in applying for $1,000,000 in Economic Development Administration funding to upgrade the water and sanitary sewer infrastructure that currently serves the business park and to construct an industrial pre-treatment facility on site to reduce the waste strength prior to it entering the city’s collection system. These upgrades have served Diana Food’s new facility dedicated to chicken-based solutions from humanely raised birds, including a broad range of chicken fat, chicken broth, and chicken powder products. The project created 88 new jobs and generated $50 million in private investment. (See attached pics)
The GMRC assisted Stephens County Development Authority in applying for $400,000 in OneGeorgia EDGE grant funding to benefit Nifco KTW and help offset the construction cost of its 130,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Nifco KTW has committed to creating 200 jobs over five years and $27 million in private investment. This project will also enhance Stephens County's regional competitiveness with its presence in the Hayestone Brady Business Park and close proximity to major transportation corridors like Georgia State Route 17 and U.S. Interstate 85.
